Privacy & cookie notice

Last updated: July 2026

Dataplane (Pty) Ltd ("Dataplane", "we") respects your privacy. This notice explains what we collect on this website, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet the requirements of South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, for visitors in the EU/UK, the GDPR.

What we collect

Cookies we set

CookiePurposeLifetime
dp_attr First-party attribution: remembers the campaign, source and landing page that brought you here, so that if you choose to contact us we know which marketing to credit. Used for no other purpose. 90 days
dp_consent Remembers your cookie choice (EU/UK visitors). 180 days
_ga and related Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement. Up to 2 years

Your choices

Nothing non-essential is stored until you agree to it. Visitors in the EU/UK are asked for consent before any analytics, advertising or attribution cookie is set — including dp_attr, because it can carry advertising click identifiers. If you decline, none are set, and anything previously stored is deleted.

You can change your mind at any time, in any country, using in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: it stops future collection and deletes the cookies listed above from your device. You can also block cookies for this site in your browser — the site works fully without them.

Visitors outside the EU/UK, including South Africa: POPIA is notice-based rather than consent-based for this kind of measurement, so analytics and attribution start on arrival. This notice is that notice, and the withdrawal control above applies to you too.

Where your data goes

We use the following processors, and no others:

We do not sell personal information and do not share it with anyone outside this list. If we add a provider that identifies visiting companies, it will be named here before it is switched on.

Retention and your rights

We keep enquiry records for 24 months after our last contact with you, after which they are deleted, unless we are working together and business records must be kept for longer under tax and company law. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time through our contact form. If you believe we have mishandled your information, you may lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator.

Access to information (PAIA)

Our manual in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) is available on request through our contact form.
